The United Kingdom’s Spaceflight Programme, LaunchUK, aims to establish commercial vertical and horizontal small satellite launches from UK spaceports. Given the location of the proposed launch sites and the make-up of the devices to be launched, the United Kingdom’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is developing guidance to support the safe interaction of launches with the marine environment, notably vessel safety.

Anatec can support those developing applications for launch by facilitating consultation with maritime stakeholders and undertaking risk assessments, including identification of planned mitigation measures such as recovery of debris, equipment and trackers.

Anatec also holds extensive in-house data which will allow for a detailed risk assessment of predicted landing zones and worst case drop zones to ensure that they are clear of main shipping areas, as well as providing support for estimated recovery times based on distance and vessel types.

Please contact us if you would like to find out more concerning risk assessments to support MCA requirement or about the chartering of guard vessels.
